I think penguins aren't that important to the population but they could also help us. If penguins didn't exist that means there would be a lot more fish and krill. That could help human society because we consume those types of animals but at the same time that could hurt other animals like seals and even big animals like killer in whales. This would give less options for penguins predators to choose because the penguin wouldn't be here anymore. That could ruin the population of another animal because that animal that uses to hunt penguins have to go for another animal and reduce their population. But I think if we keep penguins in our community they will help balance everything out and let the food cycle keep going in that environment. This could cause competition for other animals because they would have to fight to get their food from the same resources . Then one of those populations would fade away and affect another population. So I would say that. Penguins are importation to us even if we don't have much interactions with them. The smallest change in any populations could mess up the whole food chain. Weal so have to keep. Their. Environment and their habitat safe as well..
